I Will Never Use Another Method To Make Sweet Potatoes After Tasting His Recipe

There are a lot of beautiful things to look forward to in the fall season. For those living in New England, it’s the cooling weather and the changing leaves. Of course, we also start looking forward to the holiday season and get ready for winter.

But if you are like me, what you’d probably like best about this season is the food. There are the seasonal fruits and vegetables that are the only surplus during this season of the year. The fact that people do some extra cooking in the holiday season is also remarkable as well.

You should try out new recipes this season in preparation for Christmas, Thanksgiving another special occasion of the holiday season. But one particular food that many people find absolutely delicious especially this season is sweet potatoes.

There are a lot of things you can cook up with sweet potatoes and one of those special recipes is Hasselback Maple Pecan Sweet Potatoes that’s such a long name, but believe me when I say it is just as tongue tingling as it is tongue twisting.

You might be familiar with the Hasselback method which is the foundation of this recipe. Just like in the Hasselback chicken recipe, you need to cut open the items like a loaf of bread but not all the way through. Just cut about three-quarters of the way so that the potato is still attached.

It not only contributes to the eventual taste of the meal but also adds a visual appeal to it as well.

You can go through this full recipe and follow it for your delicious Hasselback Maple Pecan Sweet Potatoes.

This particular recipe serves just two people and takes only about 45 minutes. You will use just five to 10 minutes of this to prepare while the rest of the time is just time spent baking.

Here are the ingredients you will be needing;

• 2 medium sweet potatoes

• 1 tbsp. vegetable oil

• Salt & pepper to taste

• 2 tbsp. melted butter

• 1 tsp. ground cinnamon

• ¼ cup chopped pecans

• ¼ cup maple syrup

• ½ tsp. pure vanilla extract

• ½ tsp. kosher salt

Before you start, preheat your oven until it gets to a temperature of 425 degrees. Then you slice the sweet potato as described earlier every quarter of an inch. Ensure that you are not cutting it all the way through. You can put chopsticks or any other implement on the other side of the potato to ensure that you are not cutting through all the way down. Once you have done this, brush your sweet potatoes using the veggie oil and season with salt and pepper. You can then place the potatoes in a pan and bake in your preheated oven for about 30 to 40 minutes.

After your sweet potatoes have been softened this way, you can go ahead and remove them then increase the oven’s temperature to about 450 degrees.

Combine the other ingredients needed such as melted butter, ground cinnamon, chopped pecans, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and kosher salt. Yum! for making your topping in a small bowl.

Spoon the maple syrup and pecan mixture into the already bakes potatoes. Make sure they get right in between the cuts. Return the potato to the oven ab bake for another 8 to 10 minutes. You can then remove it from the oven. Your sweet potato is ready to be served once it cools.

Creative cooks can even decide to add extra flavors or do anything else you think can enhance the taste. It is your kitchen after all. Have fun with it.
